03The EHS Manager is responsible for the systematic EHS management across Veolia Water Technologies’ operations in Switzerland. The EHS Manager is responsible for implementing comprehensive corporate programs related to Environment, Health, and Safety and for driving a long term strategic approach to EHS. This role will ensure compliance with local and international EHS regulations while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and safe, environmentally responsible practices. The role works closely with the organization, supporting managers, process owners as well as all employees in ensuring safety is always a top priority as well as safe and compliant operations.
01Health, Safety & Environment Management
02Enforce and maintain health and safety policies and procedures, conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
03Investigate incidents and accidents, provide safety training, ensure compliance with Swiss and EU health and safety regulations as well as the EHS regulations of Veolia.
04Implement and maintain environmental management systems in line with ISO standards.
05Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits.
06Manage environmental initiatives, environmental impact assessments, ensure systematic environmental management processes.
07Support the planning, implementation and monitoring of safety risks in all activities.
08Identify risks and support risk assessments.
09Be a strong contributor within the Veolia Water Tech EHS community and be an equally strong representative of the community in Switzerland.
10Monitor EHS KPIs, identify strengths and weaknesses and manage action plans accordingly.
11Support the Sustainability management and ensure the required data is made available for strategic sustainability management and reporting.
12Ensure a fully compliant EHS competence matrix is effective in the organization.
13Ensure that a regulatory compliance process is in place and effective in the organization.
14Support the management of Veolia Ozonia Switzerland AG with EHS expertise and support prioritization between EHS and other topics.
15Follow 'Always Safe' principles including compliance with occupational health and safety rules, leading by example, ensuring safety is primary consideration in work scheduling.
16Act as Safety Officer (SIBE – Sicherheitsbeauftragter) and Environment Responsible within the Q.HSE organisation of Veolia Ozonia Switzerland AG, with tasks and responsibilities according to 'HQM 117457 - Local Q.HSE Organisation in OAG.pdf'.
17Manage the building and its infrastructure (including furniture, excluding IT equipment), including among others: Negotiations with the landlord, Planning, supplier selection and coordination of maintenance, renovation, repair or modification of the building or infrastructure, Maintaining related documentation, Issuing instructions regarding use, access and behaviour related to the building and infrastructure.
