The role
03Your tasks:
- Design, develop, implement and maintain the core Oracle applications and maintain the SQL/PL-SQL processes
- Ensure database availability and proactively manage and maintain security standards and controls
- Continuously optimise and simplify the architecture
- Take ownership of performance and capacity monitoring of the databases
- Execute data migration jobs and scripts as required and assist the infrastructure team in sizing database hardware
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of disaster recovery plans and a reliable backup strategy
- Ensure backups are executed correctly and periodic restores are exercised to verify backup quality
- Determine and document database policies, procedures and standards
- Performance testing and evaluation to ensure data security, privacy and integrity, including identification of bottlenecks and deadlocks
- Ensure SLAs and operational KPIs are met and work with internal and external support functions during major incidents

Requirements
↳8-10 years of experience as an Oracle DBA, ideally Oracle Certified Database Professional and experience in a lead role
↳Database design (modelling and normalisation), capacity planning, performance tuning, storage management, backup and recovery, schema management and clustering technologies
↳Operating system experience in Linux
↳Oracle management tools such as Data Guard, RMAN, Data Pump and GoldenGate as well as partitioning
↳Strong practical experience with Oracle in a production RAC (ASM) environment
↳Understanding of architecture design principles and of translating capacity requirements into infrastructure deployment
↳Self-starter with strong attention to detail, able to work independently and in a team
