What is a professional summary on a CV?
The professional summary is a short paragraph of three to five sentences at the very top of the CV, right under your contact details. It sums up who you are professionally, what you can do and what you are looking for. Hiring managers read it first, so it often decides whether the rest gets read at all.
In Switzerland it is called Kurzprofil, Profil or a professional summary. It replaces the old objective and is more concrete: instead of a wish, it states your value. Our CV checklist shows which other sections belong on the CV.
