We operate in the 0-to-1 research-to-product space, building foundational visual-inertial fusion for odometry, localization, mapping, calibration, and head-tracking image processing. Our technology powers the AndroidXR ecosystem, including GalaxyXR and upcoming devices such as Aura. In this role, you will push the boundaries of spatial computing to enable delightful Augmented Reality (AR) experiences. You will drive cross-functional ideation and development to chart the future capabilities of next-generation AR devices. The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world. ### Responsibilities ### * Develop head-tracking components of a variety of XR devices, using vision and IMU data in real-time/power constrained compute environments. * Work with stakeholders to define requirements and drive algorithmic design, implementation, and end-to-end verification. * Initiate, contribute to, or lead new research collaborations with partner teams to deliver novel technical components solving the toughest challenges facing consumer AR devices on commodity hardware.
