The role

## Your tasks ##
Operate and develop the ADvanced DiffrAction for Material Science (ADDAMS) beamline at the SLS 2.0, with a focus on total scattering and/or profile analysis methods
Develop and sustain an independent scientific research program based on advanced X-ray scattering techniques, both experimentally and in data analysis
Conceive, plan and execute synchrotron experiments, also in collaboration with users, including the necessary technical developments
Support and expand the user program of the ADDAMS beamline in collaboration with both academic institutions and industrial partners
Publication and dissemination of scientific results
Supervision of postdoctoral researchers and doctoral students

Requirements
↳* PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics or a related field
↳* Broad scientific research experience with diffraction methods and a strong related publication record
↳* Extensive experience in conducting experiments at large-scale research facilities
↳* Dynamic personality with broad scientific curiosity and the ability to drive research and infrastructure projects forward
↳* Software development skills are an advantage
↳* Fluency in written and spoken English and willingness to learn German over time
