Description

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will play a key role in integrating laboratory automation into computational pipelines, delivering robust, user-friendly solutions that accelerate scientific innovation. You'll contribute to projects ranging from automation UX enhancement and anomaly detection to predictive maintenance and Physical AI. Initially, you'll join a pioneering project to develop an AI-powered lab assistant capable of designing and executing automated experiments on Tecan liquid handling robots.

Responsabilités

Design, develop, and encapsulate automation interfaces for liquid handlers and detection instruments using modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Python).
Develop and support SDKs (Python, C#, Go) for programmatic access by AI, data science, and scientific users.
Ensure APIs and integration layers are robust, well-documented, and optimized for developer experience.
Design translation layers between experimental workflows and Tecan's proprietary scripting language for seamless robot motion planning.
Work with protocol datasets and leverage large language models or code-generation models to produce reliable and safe automation scripts.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver robust, user-friendly solutions for laboratory automation, including building AI algorithms and features to improve product UX.

Exigences

Currently pursuing or completed a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Robotics, AI/ML, or a related field.
Strong foundation in Python programming.
Comfortable working with transformer-based models (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.).
Familiarity with robotics control, automation, or motion planning; interest in laboratory automation and biotech.
Experience with laboratory automation systems is a plus.
Knowledge of C++ and/or C# and understanding of lab protocols is nice to have.
Strong team player with excellent communication and technical presentation skills.
Brings passion and talent to the role, with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and iterate quickly.
