The Paul Scherrer Institute PSI is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences in Switzerland. The decommissioning activities at PSI include technically, financially, and regulatorily demanding projects. To further professionalise and successfully develop our decommissioning portfolio, we are creating a new position and are looking for an experienced individual with strong management, project portfolio, and interface skills.
For the Radiation Protection and Safety Department, we are seeking a
Your tasks
* Proactive monitoring of the decommissioning project portfolio as well as further development of reporting and the overarching portfolio view
* Organisation and moderation of steering and coordination meetings including structured documentation
* Expenditure and cost accounting controlling in close collaboration with the responsible financial officers
* Reporting to the department management and directorate as well as preparation of decision-making bases, documents, and presentations
* Coordination of inquiries from relevant stakeholders such as supervisory authorities, EFV/EFK, and the ETH Board on the topic of decommissioning
* Participation in decommissioning projects and support for interdisciplinary questions in decommissioning
Your profile
* University degree (Master-s), for example in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a comparable field
* Several years of experience in project portfolio management as well as confident handling of corresponding tools and methods
* Experience in dealing with supervisory authorities as well as demanding internal and external stakeholders
* Experience in managing large industrial projects in plant engineering, e.g. in decommissioning, radiological waste management, nuclear facilities, or a similarly regulated environment is an advantage
* Ability to prepare complex issues appropriately for the target audience
* Strong communication skills, diplomatic tact, and affinity for science and research
* Very good German and English skills, both spoken and written
