The role

The selected candidate will take on a central role in lab organization, and as the new biosafety officer, coordinate and oversee the group's biosafety concept. Responsibilities include:
keeping the biosafety concept up to date;
training of new and current lab members on biosafety topics, yearly biosafety training
Support the three research group leaders in common lab duties including wet lab and equipment maintenance, inventory management, special trash disposal, sterilization, etc.
Act as main contact of the department for the facility manager
Assist in ordering lab supplies, liaising with vendors and technical specialists
Support the research groups in specific projects (hands-on support with biochemical, immunological, cell biology techniques)
Organizing/updating laboratory protocols and archives
Upon necessity: sample collection and transfer from the USZ Campus to Schlieren.

Requirements
↳Completed training as a Biomedical Analyst (BMA) or Biology Laboratory Technician (EFZ) with at least 4 years of professional experience, or a Master's degree in Biology, Biomedicine, or a related field with at least 1 year of professional experience in a similar role (e.g., Biosafety Officer or Laboratory Technician).
↳Eligibility to work in Switzerland (strict requirement)
↳Strong interest in biosafety topics
↳Excellent organizational and time management skills
↳Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
↳Self-motivated
↳Fluent in German and English (strict requirement)
↳Proficiency with MS Office software
