SAP S/4HANA General Ledger & Consolidation Specialist

Switzerland - Zürich Information Technology (IT) Group Functions Key responsibilities We are seeking an SAP S/4HANA specialist with strong expertise in General Ledger (GL) and Group Consolidation to design, implement, and support our statutory, regulatory, and group financial reporting solutions. The role is part of the Finance Technology department and works closely with Group Accounting, Consolidation, and local Finance teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting on our SAP S/4 platform. We are supporting local and global projects for various business units of UBS AG. Your skills and experience Key Responsibilities - Design and implement SAP S/4HANA General Ledger and SAP Group Reporting solutions to support group consolidation and statutory reporting. - Configure and maintain: o General Ledger (including parallel ledgers, document splitting, account determination) o Chart of accounts, financial statement versions, and reporting structures o SAP Group Reporting consolidation logic (consolidation units, groups, FS items, consolidation methods, rules). - Support end to end consolidation processes, including: o Data collection and validation from entities o Intercompany reconciliation and elimination o Currency translation and group adjustments o Consolidated financial statements and disclosures. - Ensure strong integration between: o SAP GL and subledgers (AP, AR, AA, Bank, etc.) o SAP Group Reporting and other reporting/analytics tools. - Participate in and/or lead implementation and rollout projects: o Blueprinting and solution design o Configuration and unit testing o Integration and user acceptance testing o Cutover planning, migration, and go live support. - Define and implement controls and checks to ensure data quality, completeness, and consistency across entities and ledgers. - Collaborate with Finance stakeholders to harmonize and standardize accounting and consolidation processes across the group. - Provide 2nd/3rd level support for GL and consolidation processes, including incident resolution and change requests. - Contribute to continuous improvement of the SAP Finance landscape, including simplification, automation, and performance optimization. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ Required Qualifications & Experience - University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field. - Solid experience (typically 3-7 years) in SAP Financial Accounting (FI) with a focus on General Ledger and consolidation. - Hands on experience with SAP S/4HANA (or SAP ERP with clear S/4 exposure) in: o General Ledger (new GL / S/4 Universal Journal) o SAP Group Reporting or another SAP consolidation solution (e.g., BCS, BPC) with willingness to focus on Group Reporting. - Strong understanding of accounting and consolidation principles, such as: o IFRS and/or local GAAP o Group consolidation methods (full, equity, proportionate) o Intercompany eliminations, currency translation, and group adjustments. - Proven experience in system design, configuration, and testing for GL and consolidation processes. - Experience with data migration (e.g., balances, open items, master data) and cutover activities. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ Skills & Competencies - Deep SAP GL configuration skills (ledgers, document splitting, posting schemes, account determination). - Good knowledge of SAP Group Reporting or strong consolidation background with readiness to specialize in GR. - Strong process orientation and understanding of end to end financial close and consolidation cycles. - Ability to analyze complex accounting and consolidation requirements and translate them into SAP solutions. - Strong analytical and problem solving skills; high attention to detail and data quality. - Excellent communication skills and ability to work with Group Accounting, local Finance teams, and IT. - Proactive, reliable, and comfortable working in cross functional, international teams. - Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages are an advantage. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ Nice to Have - Experience with multi GAAP and multi ledger setups in SAP. - Exposure to regulatory or supervisory reporting processes. - Experience with SAP Fiori and modern reporting tools (e.g., SAP Analytics Cloud). - Familiarity with agile project methodologies and DevOps practices.
