About the Role Swiss Himmel GmbH is looking for a Senior Java Full Stack Developer – DevOps & Cloud to join a mission-critical program supporting core banking and pension platforms. The role combines hands-on Java and full-stack development with cloud, DevOps, database, and AI-assisted engineering. The ideal candidate will have experience owning complex applications from design and development through deployment and production, preferably within regulated banking, financial services, or pension environments. Key Responsibilities Software Development & Architecture Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices using Java 8+ and Spring Boot. Develop secure RESTful APIs for enterprise banking and pension platforms. Build and maintain modern web applications using Angular and/or React. Contribute to architectural decisions, technical standards, and solution design. Develop scalable and maintainable solutions for business-critical applications. Cloud & DevOps Design and manage CI/CD pipelines covering automated build, testing, and deployment. Work with Docker and Kubernetes across OpenShift and AKS environments. Automate cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible. Support cloud-native deployments across Microsoft Azure and AWS. Contribute to production stability, deployment automation, and operational improvements. Data & Integration Design and optimize data solutions using Oracle, PostgreSQL, PL/SQL, Hibernate, and JPA. Perform database performance tuning and production troubleshooting. Work with Oracle RAC and Data Guard for high availability and disaster recovery. Develop event-driven solutions using Kafka. Support large-scale data migration and business-data reconciliation initiatives using Kafka and Spring Batch. AI-Augmented Engineering Integrate LLM/GPT APIs such as OpenAI and Anthropic into applications and engineering workflows. Use AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or ChatGPT to support development, code reviews, testing, and documentation. Use Python for automation, scripting, and AI-tool integration. Apply prompt engineering and AI-assisted practices across the software development lifecycle. Banking, Risk & Compliance Support technology solutions within regulated banking and pension environments. Ensure applications meet regulatory, risk, security, and audit requirements. Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution. Identify and escalate technical and operational risks. Maintain technical and functional documentation required for audits and compliance. Leadership & Collaboration Work closely with business, technology, architecture, DevOps, and other stakeholder teams. Translate business and technical requirements into practical solutions. Participate in Agile, Scrum, and SAFe delivery environments. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices. Required Qualifications & Experience 12+ years of progressive experience in Java/full-stack development. Strong hands-on experience with Java 8+, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Batch. Strong knowledge of REST APIs and microservices architecture. Experience with Angular and/or React, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS. Strong experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, PL/SQL, Hibernate, and JPA. Hands-on experience with Azure and/or AWS, preferably including AKS. Strong knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift. Experience with Terraform and Ansible. Strong experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or equivalent tools. Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures. Practical experience using LLM/GPT APIs and AI coding assistants in software development. Python experience for automation and scripting. Experience with Oracle RAC and Data Guard. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. 12+ years of relevant professional experience. Previous experience in banking, financial services, insurance, or pensions is strongly preferred.
